Life’s for learning, here’s two titbits for sharing this week:
- Retail is by no means in decline and its not all Amazon. That’s according to an impressive Gordon Brothers’ speech I filmed this week. Apparently pure ‘shopping’ is out, now it’s all about creating customer-focussed experiences. John Lewis’ new store in Oxford has dedicated 20% of space purely to experiences. And Amazon is apparently coming out of the warehouse, it has registered a new tag line “No Checkout, No Queue, No Kidding”. The full Gordon Brothers Retail Conference film recording will be available to view online soon.
- YouTube Ads work. In the past two weeks I’ve been promoting Evans and Lewis Motor Trade Insurance through YouTube and monitoring the number of click throughs from YouTube cards (links) placed within a In-Display or In-Stream promoted YouTube ad. For just £5.00 a day the company has had a considerable increase in traffic and business. They are convinced, so we’ve just produced another ad for them, now promoting Fleet Insurance.
